ANNA DATHA SUKHIBHAVA!!!Friends JOIN HANDS on WORLD FOOD DAY!!!!! So let’s all pledge during this World Food Week to not waste food.

Each year, October 16th is marked as World Food Day, in the honor of founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN in 1945. But, despite the fact that India's economy almost tripled during 1990-2005, it's a shame that we failed to admonish child malnutrition. According to World Bank, we are one of the highest ranking nations in the world for the number of children suffering from malnutrition.

To eliminate hunger, everybody has to be involved

Present society: one-third rich, two-thirds hungry!

Mother Teresa
I never look at the masses as my responsibility. I look at the individual. I can love only one person at a time. I can feed only one person at a time. Just one, one, one.

Mahatama Gandhi
There’s enough on this planet for everyone’s needs but not for everyone’s greed

Desmond Tutu
When people were hungry, Jesus didn’t say, “Now is that political, or social?” He said, “I feed you.” Because the good news to a hungry person is bread.”

There are genuinely sufficient resources in the world to ensure that no one, nowhere, at no time, should go hungry.

Federico Garcia Lorca
The day that hunger is eradicated from the earth, there will be the greatest spiritual explosion the world has ever known. Humanity cannot imagine the joy that will burst into the world on the day of that great revolution.

The Heroes Who Work 24/7 To Provide Excess Food To Hungry People Selflessly!

Feeding India is one such initiative which aims to connect the two major social problems of today: Hunger and Food waste, as solutions for each other.Hunger Heroes’ Are Feeding India’s Poor With Excess Food.

Hunger Heroes as they call themselves,  who are on a mission to feed the poor of the country by channelizing only excess food. They have partnered with restaurants, caterers, corporate offices and even college hostels from where they channelize the leftover food to the nearest donation centers after performing certain quality checks to food safety.
They have the courage to do what they do and solve India’s biggest problem of Hunger by changing the mindset of a country of 1.2 billion people who are mostly non-chalant about their wastage of food. Starting with a team of 5 last year, today they have grown to 1000+ hunger heroes in 20+ cities and have fed close to 3,00,000 nutritious meals to the needy, just with excess food! Their aim is to be spread to 50 cities by 2016 so they can serve as many people as possible.
Nearly 21000 people die every day due to hunger! This is one person every four seconds. Sadly, it is children who die most often.1 in a 9 human sleeps without food every night! The majority of world’s hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9% of the population is undernourished. Poor nutrition causes nearly half of deaths in children under the age of five.

Thanks to the Feeding India Hunger Heroes there are many in this country who have a changed mindset about food wastage and know it’s correct use. If you would like to become a Hunger Hero and work with the team at Feeding India, check out their website, join their Facebook page or mail them at – feedingindia2025@gmail.com, but most of all salute them.

At present our nation doesn't need #BeefBan or #PornBan, all it needs is attention to more grave issues robbing India of its glory. Shoddy management of food stocks, and often their shortage in rural regions have worsened the situation. Do you believe introduction of Food Security Bill promises nutrition security, too? Who's responsible for the death of over 10 million people due to chronic hunger? These questions will continue to haunt us until we stand up and do something. This World Food Day, let's pledge to eliminate malnutrition and hunger from India's face.

FRIENDS!!! COME ON!!! JOIN HANDS!!!

Food – is a necessity for survival; is a reason of happiness; is something that sees no physical boundaries; is a divine blessing; is something that unites us all.
